It's for Kids!!!

Yesterday i went to see the Transformers film with fear, we are talking about some good childhood memories in the hands of Mr. Pearl Harbor after all... (although i have to admit to loving The Rock)
As i'm watching the film, while trying to compare it to some of my memories, the thought occurs to me, i was really just a kid when i saw this. And it was made for kids. It was goofy (come on the bad guy was a big gun), silly and corny, but i still loved it, so i tried to see the film as what it really was, a movie for kids, kids who didn't grow up with Transformers, and i think that in that respect the movie accomplished that. The spirit is there, good Autobots vs. bad Decepticons, the kids to help them out save the day, the good are good just because, and the bad are bad 'cause they're rotten.
There was one thing that displeased me though, i think there was too much violence, but i take that as a sign of our times, the originals were laden with face-offs all the time so i guess there wasn't much change there...
