R. I. P.: Crocodile Hunter

I heard the news yesterday but was too awestruck to post. I was a huge fan of Steve Irvin. He had such passion by all kinds of animals, disregarding of looks or danger.
I'll always remember him holding a little snake that was caught in a fire with tears on his eyes, while saying how she was the most beautiful little creature he ever saw.

“I have no fear of losing my life. If I have to save a koala or a crocodile or a kangaroo or a snake, mate, I will save it.”
- Steve Irwin
This was his spirit, he would chase a komodo dragon, and later go up a tree because the same komodo dragon got kinda pissed at him and decided to chase him back.
He would be swimming surrounded by sharks and quietly comment how that wasn't really a good idea, and should be avoided at all costs, but gosh weren't they the most incredible creatures he ever saw.
His death was highly unlikely, his heart was pierced by a giant stingray barb, there have only been two other stingray related deaths in the world, you can see a full report here and more here.
I'd like to wish his family the best, this is a great loss, he was a great educator, although many considered him foolish and made jokes, but this was his gift to us, conservation could and should be fun. He will truly be greatly missed.

If you play with fire, you eventually get burned."
