Hugh Jackman, jet-lagged and on the run, still managed to find exactly the right words for this crowd.
“Without you, I wouldn’t have a career!” Mr. Jackman, just off a plane from Australia, screamed at 6,500 fans in the big hall at the 39th annual Comic-Con convention, which began here on Thursday.

The Day BookCrossing died...

For quite some time i was displeased with bookcrossing, not the people mind you, i met wonderful people whom i love through BC, and time and time again i see how people can be spontaneous and wonderful through books. :)
I had already mentioned before, how despite everything that's been done in the site, Bookcrossing would always live on through it's users and i believe that, now more than ever, which is why i'm putting my contact info on my bookshelf, wanna talk to me? Don't waste one of your precious 10 PMs a month, mail me!
Apparently Forum posts have been reduced to one a day too, i don't use the Forum, but i am ashamed at this, i don't understand how websites like LibraryThing, GoodReads, BookMooch, which supply services similar (in fact they're all an improvement) can work without constantly begging it's members for money (GoodReads and BookMooch are maintained exclusively through advertising and both are still faster than the BC website, LibraryThing has a 200 limit book but all other functions are available to non paid accounts).
Hard-core fans defend the website "oh but it does so much", that's crap! GoodReads and LibraryThing provide better cataloguing options and more interactivity among users.
I don't want to give up on BC i really don't want to, but our friend Ron has really been making it very hard on my lately, he's been ruining it for the rest of us...

Edit: I have to apologize, at the time i posted this the limits for PMs and Forum Posts were increased to 100-100, while that is fairer i still frown upon a limit for what is basically failed e-mail without attachments and no saving options and a very slow ad-filled forums (most free forums work better and faster), the reason my post isn't changed is that what they first did was just inadmissible, and the fact that they went back on it doesn't really change the way they treated what was supposed to be a friendly community...
